Math class is no longer just taking notes and practicing problems independently. In our classroom, we learn procedures, concepts and how to collaborate with each other so that everyone can feel success. These supplies will help fund the collaborative tasks my students love. Last year my students would beg to work in groups. Even the quietest of kids felt comfortable sharing their thoughts with 3 other people rather than a class of 25. I want all my students to feel involved from the most outgoing to the quiet introvert. I also want to keep my students moving. It’s proven that kinesthetic learning helps students retain information and these supplies will help us do just that.
