The students at my school are one of a kind! They are eager to learn, love to play, enjoy working with their peers, are motivated, and are engaged by new and interesting activities! Most students at my school come from a very low socio-economic status, are English Language Learners, and struggle academically. In addition to these challenges, many of my students have learned to overcome and live with their disability of autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, intellectual, or learning disability. As the Adapted PE teacher, it is my goal to help students stay physically active, learn and perform gross motor skills, and build positive relationships with their peers as they participate in a variety of fun and engaging activities and games. The Adapted PE class follows a co-teaching model using CA State Standards which allows all students to participate, regardless of his or her disability.
