A classroom rug in the art room provides flexible seating options for students who need a relaxed, and comfortable environment to explore and create. Our primary students struggle to reach for supplies when seated at 2 x 4 feet tables and taller chairs meant for middle school students. I have to stop small group instruction to pass them art supplies across tables. A classroom rug in my art room will become a defined space to meet the physical needs of my shortest students. While on the carpet, students can sit, lay and draw comfortably.
