Our school is located in the heart of farmland located in Summertown, TN. We are a small, but amazing community that strives to be the very best. Over 50% of our students are on free and reduced lunches and what we lack in dollars we make up for in hard work and love. Our kids are the future, and mine want to achieve great things! For months, they have been on me to help them learn coding, understand hardware and software, design games and on and on. In my 17 years of teaching, I can honestly say that I have never had such an intelligent and motivated group of kids. I want to empower them to reach their potential and help them see that no matter what your age is, you can achieve great things through diligence and persistence. With the drive my kids have, I am sure that they will into the future and accomplish amazing things. This experience will ignite and inspire all of them to seek out STEM academic areas. At this time, the students and their families do not have access to the finances or resources to create a computer as individuals. Most of the families have limited education and finances. I'm afraid if I cannot bring this to them, it will probably not happen at all for any of them. Please help my ignite their future! So, what does is Kano? Everything my students need to understand technology and create with code :-) The package will equip my students to understand technology and create with code, provide hours of engaging coding content via code art, games, and music, write docs, and browse the web, as well as the ability to access apps available on the Raspberry Pi, including Chromium, Scratch, and Google Docs.
