My second through fifth graders are all trying very hard to learn the English language. Two of my sixteen students recently arrived to our country. All of my students are eager to learn English. They are very grateful and all work very hard. My children come from extremely challenging family situations such as parental unemployment, poverty, and a language barrier. We are an inner city school, grades preschool through five.
