Our sixth grade book club has selected the theme of anti-bullying for our next group reading project. They have selected a list of books on anti-bullying that include picture books, graphic novels, chapter books and novels. We are in need of copies of these books so they can read and share them with each other. Each student will complete a project after they read their book to share with other students. They can select a video, artwork, book talk or something else that works for their learning style. These students get to school early to participate in our book club. I love seeing the students engaged in conversation with each other about their favorite parts of a book. What made them happy? Are they mad with the way it ended? What chapter is their favorite? These students become a part of the story they are reading, connecting with the characters and interacting with one another to learn and explore.
