I was six years old when I arrived in Lincoln, Nebraska after the Vietnam in 1975. The adjustment was not an easy one for my family. Without understanding the English language, I was placed in the ESL program for three years. I was very fortunate to have GREAT teachers during my early years and very blessed to have more wonderful teachers as time went by. It was a struggle for me from elementary through high school but I was fortunate to always have teachers that would be there to help and guide me. For this reason, I have chosen a career to help students that may be in similar situation as I was when I first came to America. I truly believe all students need a good education because without one, who knows where I would be today? I would like to say "Thank you" to all the teachers in my life.
