Having access to diverse & timely reading material like "A Long Walk to Water" & "Outcasts United" is necessary in these times. Both of these stories highlight global issues that will keep my students engaged and prepare them to see and understand some of the larger issues that we are facing as a society locally and beyond. Through their study, Socratic seminars and writing students will gain deep insight into these issues and will be given the opportunity to explore possible solutions as well, with the hopes that they will support future societal change.
