Sculpture and ceramics are an important part of any art curriculum. Clay projects connect students to tactile exploration in art production, as well as a long history of ceramics used in regions throughout the globe. Along with learning the technique and production aspects of clay art making, students will study both ancient and modern-day uses of ceramics in the arts. Students experience sheer excitement and joy when working with clay and glazes. Seeing the final fired product brings a feeling of magic and accomplishment. These projects are easily shared with family and create beautiful displays at school and in the home that the students can take great pride in.
