My students come from an impoverished community, riddled with gang violence. There is instability all around them and school has literally become a safe haven. Some of them are homeless and are bussed. 100% of my class are English Learners and need oral language support in order to reach first grade speaking and reading benchmarks. Our school is a Title 1 school and has been affected by budget cuts. I provide as much as I can from my own pocket but would surely appreciate your help in providing my class with a listening center.
