Please help me support my students with speech, language, and communication disorders by growing my speech room library. I LOVE using books in my therapy sessions. Books provide a natural context for learning vocabulary. Books frequently contain words that are not often used in spoken language and offer a wonderful avenue for children to discover and learn new words. A single book can target so many different speech and language goals! I can work on a child's articulation goals and language goals using the same book. Books are fun and easy, and so many activities can be built off of books (bonus: they are screen-free!) Many of the books that I have selected for this project show diverse characters, so all of my students feel represented in the books that I read in therapy. Please help me grow my students' speech and language skills and foster a love of books.
