The students at GHS are from very diverse backgrounds. Over 50 languages are spoken on campus! We are a title one school. Even though most of our students struggle financially, they have a determination and appreciation for hard work that I have not seen in other communities. The visual and performing arts department at GHS has won awards both at the state and national levels. The music department classes are full each year and have greatly contributed to the success of the department. Many of the students enjoy their music classes so much that they enroll in multiple music classes. By the time the students become seniors, they are leaders in the program. Each class has officers that help run the classes. This gives them a sense of ownership and a great chance for them to develop their leadership skills.
