When working with children who are 3 years old and have different disabilities they can sometimes have a hard time with sensory processing. With this project I hope to bring into my classroom a center filled with many different sensory items that can help them. They would have hand and finger fidgets, light dampeners, sensory tubs, wiggle items and so much more. With these items they could receive the sensory input they need and would also be able to use them to help calm themselves when they are overwhelmed. While most people can process different sensory information and handle the information appropriately, sometimes students with disabilities can not do so. With sensory difficulties their processing of information which is taken in through their five senses can become overwhelming at times. Besides just your five senses some individuals with a disability can also struggle with movement and balance as well.
