My students come from a low-income area. While they have a public library nearby, many of them have other responsibilities at home preventing them from accessing the library. Many of the students are in the process of establishing themselves. Some are being influenced by local gangs, some are participating in gang and drug interventions. Many students are very active in school-wide activities such as sports, music, yearbook, ASB etc. Students, overall, have a very positive outlook on life and are trying to find their place in the world!
