My students are the ones you see walking home late after school. My students are the ones who are sad to have two weeks of vacation because they would rather be at school than home. They are also the ones struggling to get their work done, and missing class time and homework assignments because “something more important” came up. These students attend a uniquely diversified, urban school, in a low income area. We are a program improvement school that promises to offer a rigorous and equitable education. Our students come from various backgrounds, with many different household types. Though we hold very high standards, the limited community support we have, makes access to materials and resources severely limited. With the help of a donor, we can begin living our education.
