From Shawn Achor, the author of the Happiness Advantage: "Happiness fuels success, not the other way around. When we are positive, our brains become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive at work. It’s about how to reap the benefits of a happier and more positive mind-set to achieve the extraordinary in our work and in our lives." I am excited to have my students apply the principles of this book and record their experiences about what changes they see in their lives throughout the upcoming school year. Students will also be recording what they learn as they complete over 80+ hours of service in their community as part of the Peer Leadership Team. I know from personal experience that there are tremendous benefits from daily writing in a journal and especially focusing on at least 3 positive interactions that happened throughout your day. I believe this experience will help my students establish habits that will benefit them the rest of their lives and enable them to be positive, productive, and successful wherever their life journey takes them. Thank you for considering this project and paying it forward in small way.
