Students spend a majority of their time in school. Companies like Google, Amazon and Dropbox strive to create a comfortable, warm and inviting place to work, which increases productivity and engagement. That is exactly what I aim to do in my classroom. I would like to create a defined space for independent reading. I envision an environment where students want to come together to create, collaborate and communicate with one another in order to learn and achieve great things. I will use the funds donated to create a defined reading area with a cozy shag area rug, comfy seating options, Bedrest pillows and Intex Empire Chairs, as well as soft Ikea lighting, which will set the tone for a lifelong love of books.
