Our classroom serves 1st–4th grade students with moderate cognitive disabilities and a wide range of abilities, support needs, and learning styles. Some students require more intensive, individualized support. Students thrive with hands-on, multisensory learning experiences and consistent social-emotional support to help them regulate, communicate, and succeed. Approximately half of our students are nonverbal, and while some have access to AAC devices, others rely on alternative communication supports. Our classroom prioritizes individualized instruction, communication, sensory regulation, and creating an inclusive environment where every student can learn and grow.
