Providing a wood working station opens up new avenues for students to explore such as learning simple tasks - basic repairs, measuring, and building simple structures like shelves, bird houses, and storage for our classroom materials. Students will complete group bird houses for us to put in our school garden area in an effort to attract more birds that are native to North Carolina studies. Students will work collaboratively to create, design, engineer, and build projects to stretch their thinking and allow them to learn and grow from mistakes. This promotes a growth mindset that is necessary for students to be successful.
