Evidence-based research supports literacy activities in speech and language development... and the research is not as great for students watching a book on a tablet/device. These physical books and learning activities will support me in providing a library of tangible literacy and learning materials that I can deliver and loan to my families during distance learning. I have already created an activity to accompany every book on my list - helping the caregivers of my students go beyond just reading books to their children, but interacting with the targeted speech and language concepts! The chosen materials can be sanitized and kept safe between uses. And when we return to in-person learning, they will be extremely beneficial for many years to come.
