I teach first grade in a very diverse school district, where over 60 languages are spoken throughout. My K-5 school has over 660 students, with over 80% of students receiving free or reduced lunch services. Many students in my classroom enter school without ever attending preschool or other school-readiness programs. This means that they are already behind before they even enter school for the first time. With your help, we can get the materials that will help close the achievement gap for my students. My goal as a teacher is to provide a safe and positive learning environment for every child in my class, as well as creating lifelong learners.
