The items on my wish list will allow students to use their imagination, creativity, and social skills every day during choice time. Children learn best through play and movement. These new toys and manipulatives will provide all students the opportunity to remember their learning at a higher rate because they are playing, interacting, and building. Play is the perfect time to learn new skills and strengthen already mastered skills. If you came into the room, you would see students working together in small groups using the dino builders creating new and familiar dinosaurs. You would see students at tables building creations with the Squigz. Squigz are great muscle builders because students are able to use their muscles to pull them off the table. Students will be using their imagination to create scenes using river rock look-a-likes while practicing colors and patterning skills at our rainbow area rug. At the whole group carpet, students will be using our existing blocks along with the construction signs to reenact scenes they see when they are out in the world. You would be so impressed with the skyscrapers, villages, and buildings they create!
