My students come from extremely diverse backgrounds. Many cultures are represented in my classroom, making us richer in experiences. They face challenges with perseverance and great attitudes. Because of their unique learning needs, it is not always possible for them to find books that they like and can read in our school library. If I could put high-interest books with appropriate reading ability levels in the hands of my students, it would encourage them to become lifelong readers. Being a lifelong reader is empowering and will open doors of opportunity in their futures. Equipping and empowering my students for success and independence is my mission as their teacher.
