My students are learning math this year virtually. I will use these math tools and math notebooks to model online and have students demonstrate and record their understanding of first grade math concepts. First graders learn by doing! They develop understanding of their world by touching and manipulating items. Mathematical concepts become concrete by using tangible objects to represent their ideas. My class is learning from home and using virtual manipulatives which are hard for some students to use. These math tools will help my class successfully build their understanding.
