Ask any middle-schooler their favorite book genre and they will say graphic novels! So many good books are being transformed into graphic novels and are piquing the interest of my students. The problem is that these books are very expensive! I have been funding my own classroom library through donations and yard sales but graphic novels are the hardest to come by. Help to give my students access to one of their favorite genres of books (graphic novels) through this project. These books will be used in a book club unit during the year to engage readers in rich discussions about the power of art in literature. Each student will be able to pick the book they want to read and participate in student-led discussions to empower their ideas and voices.
