I am requesting six Gaiam Stay-n-Play balls, three Wobble Chairs and three balance boards. With these products, I will be able to give my students three seating options when they come into my classroom. The balance balls, wobble chairs and balance boards will give them an outlet for their energy that allows them to move their bodies while still being productive and doing their work. With these seating options, students will be given the choice and responsibility to try new things and make a decision on what works best for them. I have been inspired by fellow coworkers who have embraced the concept of flexible seating in their classrooms. They have reported higher test scores, more on-task behavior and happier, more productive students. I would love to join many teachers in my school and use this practice with the students who need it the most. I truly believe this project will be effective in facilitating a positive, healthy and beneficial learning environment!
