Hola, Hello My name is Alexandra Perez and I am a Chicago Public School teacher for the past 6 yrs. I have been part of the public educational system for 21 years. I have been a Kindergarten, First grade, Second grade, Third grade Dual Language teacher, fourth and now Eight grade Bilingual teacher. My philosophy of education is; As an educated young Latino woman I will be responsive to the moral and intellectual demands a democratic society places upon me. Education has been a right that I have had the pleasure to have. As an educator I want my student to see education as their right no matter the color of their skin or their immigration status. For this reason I will teach in a democracy self-consciously to take upon the burden, sacrifice and struggles of improving the moral and intellectual quality of Latino and African American community by including in it as many educated voices as possible.
