Learning to read in first grade is critical for many reasons. It's the foundation of which all other learning is built on, it creates confidence, and it opens doors for the imagination to soar! This is why it is important that my students have access to early literacy readers like I Can Read, My First I Can Read, Penguin Young Readers, and Step into Reading. Furthermore, it is crucial that I keep a variety of genres to spark interests in these young minds so that they will continue to read to learn in the next grade levels. These books will help foster a lifelong passion for reading!
