I teach 4th grade in an urban setting. Many of my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. For example, many of my students come to school without school supplies, book bags, and uniforms. That's why it is important to help provide the proper tools and materials so my students will grow academically, enjoy learning, and be successful in school. Many of my students come to my class with achievement gaps and low test scores. How can I help close the achievement gap and help improve test scores when students don't have the necessary materials and technology to succeed? Despite the many challenges my students face, I am hoping to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. Learning is my students' journey. They are learning how to navigate, encouraged to explore, and I am watching them discover!
