I teach a very heterogeneous group of children mostly from low income households in an urban area. Some students are able to write 10 page research papers and others struggle to write a paragraph to summarize a lab activity. My school is a public school with a very small budget and overcrowded classrooms. We pride ourselves on providing an excellent educational experience for all of our students however the fact is students in more well-funded schools have access to far superior science equipment and technology. We want to be able to give our students exposure to higher level science courses and to do that we need better equipment.
