This is the first year in over a decade that my high school is offering a ceramics class. We have had an overwhelming positive response from both the students and teachers in offering this next year. However, we have very little of what we need to make this class happen and be successful. We are in need of the most basic clay tools and beginner supplies for students to be able to begin learning how to work with clay and glazes. My students have not had many opportunities, if any to work with clay while in attending school thus far and so many of them were eager to sign up for the class next year. I want their imagination to run free and we need help to make this happen!! I want my students to be able to explore as many hand-building techniques as possible, allowing them to create usable dinnerware, a three-dimensional sculpture, and the coolest creature they can come up with.
