Having the Fire tablets will allow me to have groups of students staying engaged with math concepts while not being in front of the teacher. This will allow me to meet more effectively with smaller groups of students, which maximizes the opportunity to identify student strengths and weaknesses. Students will be able to practice independently the skills and strategies we practice as a group. Students will feel more successful and love playing games or earning badges while doing so. Having the tablets will also enable other opportunities for our class that were unavailable before. The tablets will be available for class research during Social Studies or Writing assignments. They can be tools to help students complete classroom Escape Rooms, and also serve as dictionaries students can use during district assessments.
