On the first day of school when my students walk into my classroom, I don't want them to see a stale room full of brown desks and black chairs. I want them to see an inviting space where they want to be and can learn. A student who feels safe and comfortable in their environment has a better opportunity to thrive. I want that for all students who I will be teaching this upcoming year. My project, if funded, will give my students the opportunity to chose what makes them most comfortable. It seems like a small and only visually aesthetic idea, but to 8 and 9 year old's, it's a game changer. I want stools for those that need some movement, alternatives to traditional desks, and rockers where student won't want to stop reading. Please help me create a space where my students can grow!
