Our community is full of energetic, excited and extremely diverse learners! Our school is about 70% free/reduced lunch and the students in my classroom speak English, Chinese, Japanese, Toishanese, Vietnamese, Somali and Spanish. Because of our diverse community, I believe it is important to come together as a class several times throughout the day to check in, share thoughts and learn from each other. In order for kids to be successful students, they must first feel accepted and like a valued part of the community.
