I teach sheltered science in Trenton, New Jersey, where my students are multilingual learners from diverse cultural and language backgrounds. They are bright, curious, and eager to learn, even though English is not their first language. In class, they show perseverance and creativity, often helping each other as they build both vocabulary and scientific understanding. Our school community faces challenges. Many students have limited access to science tools outside of school, and budget constraints make it difficult to provide hands-on experiences. While Discovery Education gives us a strong digital curriculum, my students need resources to connect what they see on a screen to the real world. I want to get my students excited about science, because fun makes learning easier and more memorable. With engaging materials, they can bridge language barriers through shared exploration, observation, and discovery.
