The Scholastic magazines offer reading activities about current events both in print and digital format. The students will be engaged in learning about topics in the news today and also stories about strength and survival through hardships. My hope is to spark an interest in reading for my 10th grade students with games and activities as well as exciting stories. Also, since many of my high school students read on an elementary level, I've included books for the class library that are of interest to a high school student, but written on a level they can understand. And lastly, when the students return to school, they each will have their own unique school ID holder, as well as their own water cup, so they can stay hydrated without the need of sharing a water fountain during this pandemic.
