Choir students especially at the Jr High age are very self-conscious about their voices and singing abilities. As much as I create an atmosphere of safety, encouragement, and positivity in my classroom - I believe that students will be encouraged to sing out more and will develop and appreciation for their instrument if they are able to record themselves with an individual microphone attached to their Chromebook. I have requested 80 microphones. We will use the recordings to assess our skills and determine areas of strengths and weaknesses. The feedback I receive from listening to individual voices through these recordings will help me as the teacher to tailor my teaching to each student’s individual needs.
