The math practice standards are important in every grade in order for students to successfully understand math concepts. Document cameras will allow students to excel at several of these practices. These practices include construct viable arguments, critique the work of others, model with mathematics, and look for and make use of structure. A document camera will allow students to explain what they know and show that to the rest of the class. They will be able to find commonalities in the different ways problems are solved and compare the similarities and differences in these methods. The students will also be able to model problem solving to show understanding.
