I've been teaching for 25 years, and 24 of those years have been in the Joplin School District. On May 22, 2011, an F5 tornado ripped through Joplin, MO destroying or damaging all of my teaching supplies and resources. I spent 5 years as an Instructional Coach supporting teachers with classroom management, curriculum and ways to engage students. My heart has always been with my Special Education students, and now I get to work with 10th-grade students that are in Special Education. It has by far been my favorite position!! My classroom is a closed in open space, therefore has little furniture. I have a huge open side to my classroom that I would love to turn into a flexible seating, comfortable reading area for my students. Any donation will help reach my goal of helping my students fall in love with reading and writing. Thank you!!
