My students are eager, hands-on learners that love sharing their knowledge and experiences with others. The students work hard daily to be successful, but they can often be hard to motivate when starting a new unit. Anything that is hard to visualize or not currently part of their background knowledge can be overwhelming when first introduced. I enjoy using the constructivist approach to learning-providing my students with materials and observing what they already know and helping them to form their own questions-in order to decrease their stress. Students in our school are often burdened with issues at home that are bigger than them and make it difficult to focus on school. My goal as their teacher is to make their time away from home a safe and fun place that they look forward to attending each and every day. My students are good kids that repeatedly overcome obstacles and meet the high expectations that I repeatedly set for them. I know they will continue to be successful.
