There is definitely a connection between classroom design and learning outcomes. An environment that provides relevant content, clear learning goals and feedback, strategies to help students succeed, and opportunities to build social skills are all important factors affecting student learning and this is why it is so important that my students have sturdy and well-made furniture in their classroom. The quality of visuals and materials impacts student learning and making progress! Teachers are trained to educate students of varying capabilities using different techniques to convey a message/idea, and while educators understand that each student has unique cognitive needs, the fact that all students have unique physical needs sometimes gets overlooked. My classroom will benefit from a color printer that can print colored materials for students to identify more clearly. Printing in color makes a huge difference in whether a student can identify the object, shapes, colors, items, community signs, and community helpers. We see in color every day, having the color printer will be a blessing.
