Classrooms that celebrate Diversity give students encouragement, comfort and spark interest. This allows students to feel like they belong and promotes the growth of their sense of self. Having materials in my classroom that represent the various ethnicities and the life styles of students is important to their social and emotional development. Providing materials that students identify with increases self-esteem and self awareness, helping to foster successful transitions from home to Preschool. Extending the learning environment from home to school increasing student growth. Children who are presented with inviting and inclusive learning spaces have increased growth across targeted growth areas.
