With a large group of students reading far below grade level it is difficult to find age-appropriate quality literature for them to read that they will be excited about. My students have worked hard all year to grow their reading levels. A class set of Persepolis books will not only help develop their literacy skills, but it will help foster a developing desire to read. My students LOVE graphic novels, and Persoplis is more than that. It is a personal historical account. My students are not the biggest fans of non-fiction stories. Persoplis is perfect! It is a piece of non-fiction literature in their favorite genre.
