Student learning will be directly impacted through the alternative seating options I am looking to get for my classroom. Students will be able to have a choice in their seat for the day. This could mean sitting on a cushion and moving around the room, a swivel yoga ball chair, or even a high top table. Last year, I saw incredible student engagement and learning when they were able to decide where they sit and what they sit on. I would like to provide additional options this year, so students are able to succeed through the power of choice. It is always crucial for me as a teacher to keep in mind that I am not only teaching them math, reading, science, etc. but I am teaching them life skills and how to be great people. My students deserve these items in their classroom.
