This year I'm being trained in a research-based reading program to help students become more confident and successful readers. This program is technology based and runs through an app which is why my students need the iPads. They are crucial to the success of my students. The program focuses on a multisensory structured language approach to reading. These skills include: phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency and reading comprehension. Students love technology and incorporating it into their learning makes it easier for struggling students to be motivated to be successful. My hope is that I will be able to teach my students strategies that will help them improve and gain confidence in reading.
