I teach students in kindergarten through 8th grade, and learning by doing is exciting for students at every grade level. Benjamin Franklin said, "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." We are lucky at our school to have a small school farm that affords all of our students (grades K - 12th) the opportunity to learn about agriculture through hands-on activities and lessons. The majority of our students come from single income homes, and when students can take something home that they planted and harvested they are so excited to be able to contribute to their families.
