Every day, I have the privilege of working with small groups of incredible, hardworking elementary students who come to my intervention table ready to tackle challenges in reading and math. What my students love most is that “lightbulb moment”—when a tricky word suddenly makes sense, a storyline clicks, or a math concept finally connects. What makes our intervention space truly special is that it is a safe, encouraging launchpad where mistakes are celebrated as part of the learning journey. My small groups allow these amazing learners to receive targeted, individualized support away from whole-class pressures, building both their academic skills and their self-esteem. There is nothing more rewarding than watching them discover that they are capable, resilient, and fully able to grow into confident, passionate readers.
