I serve a group of young people that have not been exposed to a lot of things outside of their own neighborhood. They are literally products of their environment but searching for more, so I am doing everything in my power to introduce them to a different side of what they are familiar with. I primarily work with grades 6-8 and they try so hard to be so strong all the time, but they are still children and they should laugh and live as much as they possibly can. I want their load to be as light as I can make it for the little time that I am around them. My students are strong, active, opinionated, resilient and wildly resourceful. Most of all so deserving of the best things in life.
