Many of my students come from single parent homes, or come from economically disadvantaged families. Our school is a title school, serving about 550 students. Parental involvement continues to be an area we are working on, as many of our families are doing good 'just to get by' and do not have a lot of extra time or resources. My students are energetic 4, 5, and 6 year olds, who generally do not have a lot of experiences outside of school to draw on. Despite all of that, they are generally happy, inquisitive kids who love to show what they can do and learn new things.
