My fifth graders have been introduced to AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), which is a program meant to close the achievement gap worldwide to better prepare our students for college. One of the crucial parts of this program is to teach my students to be better organized with their assignments and notes taken. Binders are a tremendous necessity for my students to keep their papers in tact. Receiving heavy-duty 3" ring binders will be a huge part of their success as they will be able to keep their notes to study for quizzes and exams in all subject areas. This will be a tremendous advantage for my fifth graders as they move on to middle school where AVID will be component of their school lives.
